There are a lot of people with passion for something , there’s some people who are dreamers but then there’s these guys, they have a passion for dreams. How else can you call driving supercars on a hot summer day on the worlds best race tracks?
Last weekend the fraternity of supercar owners called Gran Turismo organised an event of beauty and speed in Riga, Latvia. More than 90 participants brought their horses, bulls, other red swooshes and “M” badged performance machines to enjoy Latvian hospitality and epic closing party at Radisson Blu Riga.
But of course you don’t bring your supercar over sea and many borders just to eat, drink and carefully drive over speed bumps, no you do it to try and tame your beast on the Bikernieku race track. And tame they did.
Fastest lap time of 1:25.9 belongs to Porsche GT3 RS and Corvette C6 Z06 following close with second best of 1:27.9. To put these lap times into perspective Reanault F1 car did it in 1 minute and 17 seconds with Johan Rajamäki at the wheel. One must wonder how much faster this Porsche would have been if 30+ degrees outside that day wasn’t the case.
